THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMERS
The term elastomer is generically used to designate natural or synthetic materials that have the chemical/physical properties of natural rubber.
The most distinctive characteristic of elastomers is the ability to withstand high elastic elongation (i.e. 200% or greater) under stress and return to the original dimension when the stress is released.
A Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) combines the rubber-like properties of a thermoset elastomer and the processing characteristics of a thermoplastic.
